The Red, White & Cruise

It’s a busy week here at the office—everyone is scrambling to meet production deadlines while finalizing holiday plans. Could the 4th of July fall on a worse day of the week? Wednesday … really? But what’s not to love about Independence Day (a lot if we’re talking about the Will Smith movie)? Barbeques, fireworks and, most importantly, a celebration of freedom.
By now, most of you have heard the news of Katie Holmes’s newfound independence. Last Friday, it was announced that Holmes had filed for divorce from husband Tom Cruise. My co-worker and I have a theory that this is simply a case of a five-year contract coming to an end. No matter the reason for divorce—good ‘ol irreconcilable differences, infidelity or Scientology overload—don’t expect to see Holmes jumping up and down on couches or sliding across floors to the music of Bob Seger any time soon. Do, however, expect to see her maintain her fashion icon status (although her six-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, provides some stiff competition).
Instead of showing you how to emulate the Katie/Suri style, I thought it would be more appropriate to demonstrate how you can put together a patriotic look to commemorate Holmes’s transition into singlehood—and your country’s freedom. Yes, July 4 might be tomorrow, but that just puts you ahead of the game for Labor Day celebrations.
Be the belle of the ball—or BBQ—in the Bella – Ladies’ Cory Vintage T-Shirt Dress from S&S Activewear. This formfitting dress drapes beautifully on the body. It is made from a 55/45 cotton/polyester blend. It comes in white, black, midnight or soft pink.
Be prepared for your next BBQ with this unique wine carrier that doubles as a purse. One bottle of wine or champagne securely fits inside the hard sided case. A corkscrew is included in an inside pocket. The purse has brass feet, closure and chain detail on the strap. It is available in 10 different colors.
Show your patriotic side with one of the coolest light up glasses around. Each pair has 10 LED lights. To turn on the glasses, simply push the button once to activate a very quick flash function, and push the button twice to commence a slower flash function. Push the button a third time to have all the LEDs on a still non-flashing light; turn off by pushing the button once more. One size fits most.
(Editor’s Note: Have a great holiday! Stay safe and be responsible.)
